The Museum Experience Program

The Museum Experience Program is for sophomores and juniors in selected New York City high schools who are interested in the arts and humanities.  Students have the rare opportunity for a behind-the-scenes look at some of our city’s most unique cultural institutions. Participants have explored The New York Historical Society, Rubin Museum of Art, International Center of Photography, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Museum of The City of New York, and Society of Illustrators.  The programs include gallery talks, conversations with museum staff, learning about conservation and restoration, and information about careers and summer internships. Creative activities are part of each session and are led by artists in the fields of book illustration, graphic design, art history and photography.
